This week we made a few monumental strides in settling in our new place...
1. The termite terminator came and did his thing...yay, and in the process he swept up all the spiders and cockroaches in the cabinets.
2. The screen guys came and we now have screens on all our windows!!
3. The washing machine guy came and fixed our little guy...we thought our mildewy clothes were going to be a permanent thing.
4. We've slept 2 nights without the AC! AC takes a LOT of electricity so the sooner we wean off the better...or cheaper :D
Huge sigh of relief. The apt is now feeling more like our home and less like our project.
Today we decided to try to walk to church seeing it was only like 2 or 3 km....it took us 45mins...it was a little toasty...probably not doing that again. Not very many members have cars so the alternative to walking is taking the gua-guas....which is the public transportation. I'll have to take a pic because we're not talking a nice greyhound or even a elementary school bus, we're talking a TINY flat nosed minivan that probably hold 10 people safely but usually take around 15-20 people. Oh, and don't worry about space, they've taken off the sliding door so people can stand on the edge and hang out :D. We took one home and they generously let us sit in the front seat...they probably saw the deer-in-the-headlights look on our face.
