New Favorite thing EVER....

One day at the grocery store I saw a bag of popcorn.  I thought "I know there is some way to pop this on the stove." We decided to make our first batch on Saturday of General Conference.  We looked up how to do it and had a few good tips.  So if you're wondering...
Heat 1/4 c oil in large pot
Put in 3/4 tsp salt (this flavors it "from the inside out")
Put in 3 kernels and wait til they pop to know the oil is hot enough
Take off heat, add 1/2 c popcorn, shake to coat kernels, wait for 30 secs (so they can all be the same heat)
Put back on stove, shake a few times, and voila!  Yum
BUT this is not the best.  After a few times of popcorn we thought, ah wouldn't it be nice to have kettle corn?  So here we go again, we looked it up (what did we ever do without the internet? oh yeah, i remember encyclopedia britannica).  It said you just added 1/4 c sugar to the oil.  The first batch burned....oh yeah, burnt sugar, that was not fun to clean up.  So back to Youtube to see some demos.  In case you're wondering:
Heat oil and kernels as before, no salt.  When you put in all the kernals put in 1/4 sugar and mix it up so they are all coated.  This is the tricky part, you put it back on the heat for 3 secs then shake for 3 secs, repeat til popping stops.  Immediately pour into big bowl and sprinkle with salt.  WOW!  SOOOOO delicious!!!!  After the last 3 batches of kettle corn I think we ODed and are going back to regular.  But we will return.
